Green River State Wildlife Area

One of the largest native prairie areas left in Illinois, this area is home to many endagered species of birds, plants, reptiles and insects. The 2,565 acre site is used for education programs, hiking and Class C Camping. Hunting by permit. Equestrian trail riding permitted April 15 thru October 31. Three miles west of Rt. 26 off of Maytown Rd.
